Nintendo has filed a lawsuit in California demanding that Discord reveal the identity of a user known as GameFreakOUT, who is suspected of leaking a terabyte of internal materials related to the Pokémon series, Polygon reports.

The leak is known in the community as Teraleak due to the amount of information that was released. Details about upcoming games, unused materials, unfinished game sprites, concept art for the 1997 anime, internal Game Freak documents, and meeting minutes from The Pokémon Company were leaked online. According to GameFreakOUT, he gained access to this data through serious vulnerabilities in the company's IT system.

Nintendo is seeking to obtain the user's real name, address, phone number, email, IP address, and other identifying information through the lawsuit. If the request is granted, Discord will be required to hand over this information to the company.

Discord has not yet provided any information, and the final decision on the disclosure of user data will be made by the court. Nintendo is known for its tough attitude towards violations of its intellectual property. For example, last year in Japan a man was arrested for modifying Pokémon Scarlet and Violet and selling upgraded Pokémon. And Gary Bowser was sentenced to three years in prison and ordered to pay a $14.5 million fine for selling hacked Nintendo consoles.
