Silent Hill f, the eighth installment of the classic Japanese horror franchise, was announced back in 2022, but little has been revealed about it since then. Now, Konami has finally revealed a new trailer during the Silent Hill Transmission broadcast – essentially the first full trailer, aside from the cinematic teaser, released over two years ago.
We will play as a high school girl named Hinako Shimizu, and the game will take place in Japan in the 1960s, in the small town of Ebisugaoka, whose streets have been engulfed in fog, turning it into a nightmare. According to the developer, the city of Gero in Gifu Prefecture was used as the basis.
Silent Hill f is being developed by Neobards Entertainment (founded by former Konami and Capcom employees). The script is written by Japanese writer, illustrator and screenwriter Ryukishi07, and the soundtrack is composed by legendary composer Akira Yamaoka, who wrote the music for the classic Silent Hill games.
The release date has not yet been announced, the trailer only says that the game will be released on PlayStation 5, Windows, and Xbox Series X. Silent Hill f already has a page on Steam, where you can add it to your Wishlist.
