Apple has released iOS 18.4, the fourth major update to the iOS 18 operating system, which was released last year.
The new software can be downloaded to compatible iPhones over the air by going to Settings > General > Software Update. The firmware size is over 3 GB.
What's new in iOS 18.4?
• Apple Intelligence Priority Notifications – A new feature that shows the most important notifications first. It’s off by default, but you can turn it on in Settings > Notifications > Priority Notifications.
• Visual Intelligence is now available on iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max, not just iPhone 16.
• The Action Button now has the ability to activate Visual Intelligence , which is an alternative to Camera Control on the iPhone 16.
• New Apple Intelligence section in Control Center , including Siri Input (previously in the removed Siri section), as well as new options for activating Siri and using Visual Intelligence.
• Image Playground has a new Sketch style, complementing the Animation and Illustration styles. Previously only available in Image Wand, it is now also available in Image Playground.
• Added support for new languages for Apple Intelligence : French, German, Italian, Portuguese (Brazil), Spanish, Japanese, Korean, Chinese (Simplified) , as well as localized English for Singapore and India.
• New emojis : face with bags under the eyes, fingerprint, leafless tree, root vegetable, harp, shovel, and paint splatter.
• Vision Pro App will automatically appear on your iPhone after installing iOS 18.4 if you have a Vision Pro headset. This app helps you discover and download content for Vision Pro.
• A new Food section has been added for Apple News+ subscribers, where you can find recipes, restaurant reviews, healthy eating tips, and kitchen accessories.
• Ambient Music is a new feature that you can add to Control Center . It contains four sound categories: Sleep, Relaxation, Productivity, and Wellbeing.
• The camera and microphone indicator lights are now located on the left side of the iPhone menu bar and have a black background, making them more visible.
• The Photos app has new filters for organizing your library, including images shared by other users or those not in any albums.
• New Library and Shows widgets for the iPhone home screen.
Apple also fixed some bugs and improved smartphone security.
